PETALING JAYA (Aug 31): CapitaLand Malaysia Trust (CLMT) has fixed the issue price for new units to be issued under its distribution reinvestment plan (DRP) at 53.87 sen per unit after Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd approved the listing and quotation of up to 170 million new CLMT units to be issued pursuant to the exercise.
It said in a Bursa Malaysia filing on Friday (July 31) that the issue price relates to CLMT's first income distribution of 2.65 sen per unit for the six months ended June 30, 2026, which was announced together with the REIT's second-quarter results on July 27. Under the DRP, the entire distribution is electable, allowing unitholders to reinvest all or part of their cash distribution in new CLMT units or receive the distribution wholly in cash.
The manager of CLMT said the 53.87 sen issue price was based on the five-market-day volume weighted average market price (VWAMP) of 61.20 sen up to July 30, after deducting the 2.65 sen first income distribution and applying an 8% discount to the ex-distribution five-market-day VWAMP of 58.55 sen.
The first income distribution comprises a taxable distribution of 2.61 sen per unit and a non-taxable distribution of 0.04 sen per unit.
The distribution will go ex on Aug 18, with an entitlement date on Aug 19. Unitholders who wish to participate in the DRP have until 5pm on Sept 10 to submit their election.
The cash distribution and the crediting of new units issued under the DRP are scheduled for Sept 22, while the new units are expected to be listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia on Sept 23, barring unforeseen circumstances.
Separately, Bursa Securities has approved the listing and quotation of up to 170 million new CLMT units to be issued under the DRP, subject to the usual conditions, including compliance with the Main Market Listing Requirements, notification upon completion of the DRP, confirmation of compliance with the approval conditions, maintenance of the requisite authority to issue units where applicable, and payment of any additional listing fees.
