Tropicana Corp launches T Journey hospitality services

LANGKAWI (Aug 4): Tropicana Corp Bhd’s (KL:TROP) Clarissa Serviced Suites — the third and final phase of its Tropicana Cenang development in Pantai Cenang, Langkawi — is 20% taken up, according to Tropicana marketing, sales and business development managing director Ixora Ang Pei-Chern.

Speaking on the sideline during the official launch of T Journey Hospitality app at the recently-completed Assana Serviced Suites, Ang said that the buyers of Clarissa Serviced Suites are mostly foreigners, which is a stark contrast to Assana.

Launched in April last year, the RM922.6 million, freehold 40-storey Clarissa will feature 806 fully furnished serviced suites with built-up sizes ranging from 536 to 1,356 sq ft at RM668,800 onwards.

Meanwhile, the launch event signifies Tropicana Corp’s commencement of its hospitality operations at Tropicana Cenang. T Journey is its integrated hospitality management and services platform, in which the developer will progressively expand across its future developments in Langkawi, Genting Highlands and Johor.

The event also saw the announcement of the inaugural partnership with AirAsia Rewards as the official launch partner, alongside 10 other strategic partners, including government agencies such as Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, as well as the Langkawi Development Authority.

Other partners include Dream Forest Langkawi, Underwater World Langkawi, Langkawi Wildlife Park, Crocodile Adventureland Langkawi, Sedunia Travel Services, Mitra Malaysia and HostPlatform.

Tropicana Cenang’s Phase 1, Assana, was launched in September 2021 with 831 units (built-ups: from 380 sq ft) in a 39-storey block, at starting prices of RM500,000. It is fully sold, of which 85% of the buyers are Malaysians.

Following Phase 1, Tropicana Corp launched the second phase, Merissa Serviced Suites, in June 2023.

The RM115 million Merissa has a gross development value of RM115 million and comprises 60 beachfront units in a low-rise building. Units were launched from RM1.71 million and have built-ups from 1,066 to 1,303 sq ft with two- and three-bedroom layouts ranging from duplex to intermediate and corner units.

Both Assana and Merissa were completed in April this year.
