West River bags RM11 mil in mechanical and electrical work jobs

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 4): West River Bhd (KL:WESTRVR) said it has secured two mechanical and electrical subcontracts for an apartment project.

One subcontract, valued at RM3.35 million, is for air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation services, while the other, valued at RM7.65 million, is for electrical and lightning protection services, according to a bourse filing on Tuesday. 

Both subcontracts, awarded to its unit West River Engineering Sdn Bhd from Mabuco Sdn Bhd, are for the proposed Celora Sunway serviced apartment development in Bandar Sunway, Selangor.

The subcontract for air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation began on Feb 6, while the electrical and lightning protection services subcontract commenced on Feb 9.

Both are scheduled for completion on Dec 2, 2028. Liquidated damages stand at RM52,000 per day of delay.

Shares of West River ended half a sen or 1.61% lower at 30.5 sen, valuing the company at RM109.1 million.
