KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 5): Gamuda Bhd (KL:GAMUDA) has secured a RM1.71 billion contract to build a hyperscale data centre in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.
The award marks Gamuda’s second hyperscale data centre construction contract in Port Dickson this year.
In April, the group secured a RM1.72 billion contract for another hyperscale data centre in the same location from a multinational technology company headquartered in the United States, without naming the customer.
The latest construction contract was awarded to the group’s wholly owned subsidiary, Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd, on Wednesday, according to a bourse filing.
The contract was awarded by a multinational technology company headquartered in the United States, although Gamuda did not disclose the identity of the customer.
The contract covers the construction of a single-storey hyperscale data centre facility, including site infrastructure works, building core and shell construction, as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) fit-out works.
Construction is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2026 and be completed by the second quarter of 2028.
Gamuda said the project is expected to contribute positively to the group’s revenue and earnings for the financial year ending July 31, 2027, until its completion.
The group said the project is subject to the usual construction risks, including fluctuations in material prices, adding that it will mitigate such risks through its experience and expertise in executing construction projects.
The award further strengthens Gamuda’s construction pipeline, which stood at a record RM52 billion as at end-April 2026
On Wednesday, Gamuda’s share price rose 13 sen or 3.09% to RM4.34 at the time of writing, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM25.93 billion. The stock has fallen 12% since the beginning of this year.
