PETALING JAYA (Aug 21): Inta Bina Group Bhd’s net profit attributable to shareholders rose 7.2% to RM10.36 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 (2QFY2026), from RM9.66 million a year earlier, despite lower revenue.

Quarterly revenue fell 3% to RM180.51 million from RM186.11 million, while profit before tax rose 7.8% to RM13.59 million from RM12.61 million.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Friday (Aug 21), the construction group said the improved quarterly financial performance was mainly due to higher profit from the closing of final accounts on completed construction projects.

The construction segment recorded revenue of RM174.97 million for the quarter, marginally lower than RM177.25 million a year earlier. Segment profit, however, increased 31.2% to RM9.12 million from RM6.95 million, supported by stronger contributions from ongoing projects.

Its property development segment recorded revenue of RM4.11 million and segment profit of RM1.40 million, compared with RM25.71 million and RM3.58 million, respectively, in the corresponding quarter last year.

The group attributed the lower contribution to its development project having progressed to a more advanced stage of completion, resulting in lower progressive revenue recognition.

For the first six months of FY2026, net profit attributable to shareholders increased 7.6% to RM21.17 million from RM19.67 million, while revenue edged up 1.4% to RM386.19 million from RM380.71 million.

As at June 30, the group’s construction segment had an unbilled order book of RM1.6 billion, while unbilled property sales stood at RM8.2 million. Inta Bina said the outstanding construction order book is expected to provide earnings visibility and support its revenue stream over the next two to three years.

The group said it remained cautiously optimistic, while flagging risks from rising construction-material, energy and fuel costs, increasing compliance and regulatory requirements, and broader inflationary pressure on operating expenses.

Inta Bina also declared a second interim single-tier dividend of 0.5 sen per share for FY2026, amounting to approximately RM3.2 million. The shares will go ex-dividend on Sept 10, with entitlement on Sept 11 and payment scheduled for Sept 25.
