PETALING JAYA (Sept 7) : Genting Malaysia Bhd is adding a marina to Resorts World Langkawi that will connect the resort to ONE°15 Marina's regional network of yachting destinations across Southeast Asia.

It said in a press release that ONE°15 Marina Langkawi, is being developed in collaboration with Singapore-listed marina developer and operator SUTL Enterprise Ltd, where it will have more than 90 berths and accommodate superyachts of up to 140 ft.

The marina is expected to receive its first yachts in the second half of 2027.

Its location places Langkawi between ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove in Singapore and ONE°15 Marina Panwa Phuket in Thailand, along an established cruising route through the Andaman Sea.

SUTL also operates ONE°15 Marina Desaru Coast in Johor and ONE°15 Marina Nirup Island in Indonesia.

Located within Resorts World Langkawi, the new marina will add marine leisure facilities to the resort's existing hospitality offerings.

Visitors will have access to yacht charters, island-hopping excursions and other marine activities, as well as the resort's accommodation, dining and entertainment facilities.

Resorts World Langkawi and SUTL Enterprise said Langkawi's location between Singapore and Phuket, together with its tourism infrastructure, international connectivity and duty-free status, supported further growth in marine tourism and waterfront experiences.

Genting Malaysia president Lee Thiam Kit said the collaboration would strengthen Langkawi's appeal as an island tourism destination by giving visitors more ways to explore the island and its surrounding waters.

He said the partnership also supports the Langkawi Development Authority's aim of strengthening Langkawi's position as a world-class tourism destination through a broader range of tourism products and experiences.

Linking Singapore and Phuket

SUTL Enterprise executive director and CEO Arthur Tay said ONE°15 Marina Langkawi represented an important step in the continued expansion of the group's marina network in Asia.

He said the Langkawi marina's location between the group's Singapore and Phuket facilities would strengthen a natural yachting route and allow boaters to plan cruises across the connected destinations.

The marina will accommodate superyachts measuring up to 140ft, or about 43m.

The statement did not disclose the development cost, land area or detailed construction timeline for the project.
