PETALING JAYA (Sept 9): Scientex Bhd’s net profit attributable to shareholders rose 29.5% to RM199.92 million for the fourth quarter ended July 31, 2026 (4QFY2026), from RM154.33 million a year earlier, supported by stronger contributions from its property and packaging divisions.
Revenue increased 17.7% to RM1.40 billion from RM1.19 billion, while operating profit climbed 32.7% to RM281.78 million from RM212.41 million. The results are unaudited.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Wednesday (Sept 9), Scientex said its property division recorded quarterly revenue of RM678.9 million, up 17% from RM580.1 million a year earlier, driven by progressive revenue recognition from ongoing projects and sales from new launches.
Property operating profit rose to RM194.3 million from RM170.2 million. The group said unit sales were stronger, supported by encouraging take-up for new launches in the Central and Melaka regions.
For FY2026, Scientex’s net profit attributable to shareholders increased 16.8% to RM620.17 million from RM530.75 million, while revenue rose 6.5% to RM4.81 billion from RM4.52 billion. Operating profit increased 18.8% to RM881.51 million.
Property revenue grew 8.3% to RM2.20 billion from RM2.03 billion, while operating profit rose to RM624.1 million from RM592.3 million.
Scientex attributed the improvement to higher sales, supported by what it said were record unit sales during the year, contributions from projects across the Northern, Central, Melaka and Southern regions, and steady construction progress.
Meanwhile, packaging revenue rose 5.1% to RM2.61 billion from RM2.48 billion, while operating profit jumped 71.9% to RM257.4 million from RM149.8 million. Scientex attributed the improvement to better market sentiment, improved margins, a favourable product mix and operational efficiency.
During the quarter, Scientex launched projects at Scientex SP Astana, Scientex Bestari Jaya, Scientex Cheng and Scientex Muar.
The group said the maiden launches at Scientex Bestari Jaya and Scientex Muar received positive market response, while Scientex SP Astana and Scientex Cheng recorded encouraging take-up.
Scientex also recommended a final dividend of six sen per share for FY2026, unchanged from a year earlier. The dividend is subject to shareholders’ approval at the forthcoming annual general meeting.
The dividend will go ex on Jan 4, 2027, with an entitlement date of Jan 5, 2027, and is scheduled to be paid on Jan 21, 2027.
