PETALING JAYA (Sept 12): Masteron Sdn Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hero Market for the supermarket chain to anchor VTown, its 20.97-acre mixed development in PJS5 here.

Under the MoU, Hero Market is expected to open an approximately 20,000 sq ft outlet at VTown in 2028. Masteron said in a media release today that it will be the supermarket chain’s first purpose-built standalone store and include its largest dedicated fresh-market section.

Levure Bakery and Manchu Butcher Shop are also expected to operate within the premises.

The MoU was signed by Masteron director Choy Yuin Yi and Hero Market’s founder Francis Tee in conjunction with the opening of Masteron Gallery @ VTown.

VTown comprises residential, retail and lifestyle components. Its first residential phase, Verando, was fully sold and handed over to residents in 2025, while Veridian Residence, its second residential phase, is currently being launched.

Veridian Residence has an estimated gross development value (GDV) of approximately RM750 million and, upon completion, is expected to bring another 1,167 families to the PJ South area, according to Masteron.

Tower A comprises 551 units across seven layouts ranging from 947 sq ft to 1,302 sq ft, with configurations of between three-plus-one and four-plus-one rooms.

VTown’s lifestyle precinct also includes 18 lifestyle shops, SK Badminton Academy, SK Arena, Arise Pilates Studio and Plan B & Physio Centre. The latter four opened at the end of August.

Choy said the Hero Market partnership formed part of Masteron’s continued investment in the area, following its revival of the previously abandoned Villaria Condominium and shoplots about a decade ago.

“We are glad to welcome Hero Market to further strengthen our commitment to enable our buyers to mastering new lifestyles,” she said.

Established in 2005, Hero Market operates 36 outlets across the Klang Valley, Johor and Penang.
