KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 16): EdgeProp Malaysia’s third edition of the Realtors' Roundtable (RRT), which recognises top-performing property agents, has celebrated a growth of almost 70% with close to 200 members.

Speaking at the gala dinner last night, EdgeProp Malaysia managing director Alvin Ong said: "When we started this Roundtable, there were 70 of you. Last year, 120. Tonight, nearly 200".

He added that the community now stands at 425 members strong across Malaysia and Singapore.

The growth reflects the trust the industry has placed in the RRT, an independent platform established by EdgeProp to help consumers identify trusted real estate professionals who demonstrate excellence in performance, professionalism and client service.

Ong noted that a home is far more than a transaction: “It represents a family's life savings and the place where our children grow up and our security sits”.

As such, he framed the realtor's role around two questions every client silently asks: Can you deliver, and are you on my side?

The first, he said, is a matter of capability, which the RRT badge itself certifies. The second is a matter of character — harder to measure and even harder to reward, but it is what ultimately separates a good realtor from a merely capable one.

On this note, Ong stated: "At EdgeProp, trust is our currency", adding that the Roundtable can be a place that celebrates success while also helping members live up to it.

Three new awards, plus first-time scholarship

This year's Roundtable introduced three new accolades tailored to Malaysia's community:

Young Achiever Award: Recognising top performers aged 30 and under, celebrating early-career agents who have already earned their clients' trust

Titan and Milestone Awards: Presented to members who have qualified for three consecutive years, honouring sustained performance over reputation

Agency Awards: Recognising agency leaders who put their people in the spotlight, back their ambition and champion their success

For the first time, EdgeProp Malaysia also launched the Realtors' Roundtable Scholarship, offering five bursaries covering 50% of tuition fees for the Diploma in Real Estate at UCSI College, which anchors the new scholarship programme.

Ong invited members to take up the opportunity themselves or nominate someone who deserves the chance, framing it as part of the platform's responsibility to the profession: "If we ask you to keep growing, we owe you more than encouragement".

The evening was made possible by a lineup of partners: Oregeon Property Consultancy, the Roundtable's preferred valuation partner; Federal Auto, its official automotive partner; whisky crafter Singleton Malaysia, premium chocolate producer ROYCE, robotic camera system Glambot; and tertiary academic institution UCSI College.
