PETALING JAYA (Sept 17): Binastra Corp Bhd’s net profit rose 78.1% to RM50.62 mil for the second quarter ended July 31, 2026 (2QFY2027), from RM28.42 million a year earlier, driven by stronger construction activity.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Thursday (Sept 17), the construction group said quarterly revenue increased 65.9% to RM658.39 mil from RM396.84 million. Earnings per share rose to 4.63 sen from 2.61 sen.

The construction segment, Binastra’s principal revenue contributor, recorded revenue of RM658.2 mil, compared with RM396.6 million a year earlier. Segment profit before tax increased to RM70.6 million from RM36.3 million.

Binastra attributed the revenue growth mainly to its newly acquired subsidiary LF Lansen Sdn Bhd and its expansion into solar installation projects, which contributed RM97.4 million during the quarter.

Revenue from conventional construction and data centre projects rose by RM164.2 million to RM560.8 million.

For the first six months of FY2027, net profit grew 60.4% to RM85.89 million from RM53.56 million, while revenue nearly doubled to RM1.26 billion from RM653.68 million.

Order book at RM6.7b

Binastra said it secured a letter of award worth RM500 million for a proposed data centre development during the quarter.

Its outstanding order book stood at approximately RM6.7 billion as at July 31, which the group expects to provide earnings visibility over the next four financial years.

The group said it will focus on strengthening project execution, integrating LF Lansen, improving working capital management and expanding its presence in the data centre segment.

Binastra declared an interim single-tier dividend of four sen per share, compared with three sen a year earlier. The dividend will go ex on Oct 2, with entitlement on Oct 5 and payment on Oct 16.
