KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 8): Khazanah Nasional will be holding public engagement sessions for Taman Tugu Project tomorrow and Saturday.

On Sept 4, prime minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak launched the Taman Tugu Project — a not-for-profit corporate responsibility initiative spearheaded by Khazanah Nasional to conserve and activate a 66-acre rainforest park in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

The two dialogue sessions on Sept 9 and 10 (Fri and Sat) will be from 10am to 12pm at Level 7, Mercu UEM in Kuala Lumpur Sentral.

Khazanah managing director, Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar will be hosting the sessions.

Entry to the sessions are via pre-registration only as seats are limited.

The Taman Tugu Project also entails enhancing connectivity between Taman Tugu and surrounding places as part of a collective effort to stitch the urban fabric of the city for the convenience of residents and visitors alike.

In finalising the details of the Taman Tugu Project masterplan, Khazanah said it wants to engage the public for feedback on the development, such as on activities and food and beverage to be offered on the site, as well as on the name for the urban rainforest park.

“They can provide input via online surveys on the official website at www.tamantugu.com.my and at several booths that will be located in high pedestrian traffic areas around the city. So far, the online survey has received good participation,” Khazanah said.

There will be more public engagement sessions scheduled in the coming weeks and details will be updated on www.tamantugu.com.my.
