KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 14): AWC Bhd’s 51%-owned environment division has bagged three independent subcontracts, including one for the KL118 project, for a collective value of RM27.5 million.

The first contract is for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a waste handling system for a new in-flight catering facility at Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan, awarded by Evergreen Sky Catering Corp, according to its bourse filing yesterday.

The subcontract, worth RM7.8 million, is expected to be completed by March 2018.

The second subcontract is for the design and supply of Automated Vacuum Waste Collection System in India for RM9.5 million, awarded by Shapoorji Pallonji and Co Pte Ltd. The job is expected to be completed by October 2018.

The third contract is for the implementation of a solid waste handling system for the KL118 Tower Project, worth RM10.2 million, awarded by Samsung C&T Corp UEM Construction JV Sdn Bhd. Set to start in March 2017, it should be completed by October 2019.

This is the second KL118 subcontract awarded to AWC. The first, for plumbing works, was secured by its subsidiary Qudotech Sdn Bhd in January.

AWC managing director and group chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Kabeer said the company had managed to secure over RM1 billion of works, year to date. AWC is an integrated facility management, and mechanical and engineering services provider.
