PETALING JAYA (Sept 23): Hard Rock International is set to open a Hard Rock Hotel in Johor Bahru’s Desaru Coast in 4Q2017.

According to Hard Rock International, the 365-room hotel will be part of the anticipated integrated destination resort, Desaru Coast that will encompass entertainment, restaurants, shopping, a waterpark and a 45-hole golf course, among other leisure offerings.

The project is in collaboration with Themed Attractions Resorts & Hotels Sdn Bhd (TAR&H), a tourism group established by Khazanah Nasional Bhd to develop, manage and operate world-class attraction destinations in Southeast Asia.

“With more than 25 million arrivals last year, Malaysia is recognised as one of the leading destinations in Asia where Hard Rock has a strong following and brand recognition.

“We are confident we will continue to build upon the phenomenal success of the Hard Rock Hotel Penang with this unique property,” said Hard Rock International’s senior vice-president of hotel development in Asia and India, Leong Wy Joon.

Guests of the upcoming Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast will be centrally located in Phase 1 of Desaru Coast, overlooking and providing easy access to the Desaru Coast Adventure Water Park, as well as the Retail Village, the resort’s waterfront shopping and social hub.

Catering to the distinct needs of modern travellers, Hard Rock Hotel guests will also have access to the fully equipped Desaru Coast Conference Centre and two championship golf courses, designed by renowned golf professionals, Ernie Els and Vijay Singh.

The hotel will also feature a full-service Rock Spa equipped with two outdoor treatment rooms, the Sound of Your Stay music amenity programme, the Roxity Kids Club, and the Rock Shop.

Meanwhile, TAR&H chief executive officer for destination resorts and hotel portfolio Muhammad Zainal Ashikin Rejab said the Hard Rock Desaru Coast will complement the premium integrated destination resort’s offerings and lively atmosphere, while bringing a unique flavour and brand experience to be enjoyed by locals, international and domestic travellers alike.

“This collaboration reaffirms our intent to offer an amalgamation of diverse offerings that succinctly position Desaru Coast as the new destination of choice in Southeast Asia,” he added.
