KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 13): IJM Corp Bhd's property development arm IJM Land Bhd together with its joint-venture partner, Amona Development Sdn Bhd, today initiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the 2.8-km Pantai Sentral Park interchange.

The interchange, which will link the Pantai Sentral Park mixed-use development and the Pantai Dalam-Kerinchi area with the New Pantai Express Way (NPE), will be constructed at an estimated cost of RM52 million over 18 months.

"Upon completion, the interchange will position Pantai Sentral Park as one of Kuala Lumpur's most desirable addresses for residences and businesses, due to its strategic location in the heart of the Golden Triangle connecting Kuala Lumpur, Bangsar and Petaling Jaya," IJM Land said.

Speaking at the ceremony, IJM Corp chairman Tan Sri Abdul Halim Ali said the interchange will improve traffic flow in the vicinity of Pantai Sentral Park and "create development prospects for the group to consider future development needs through an integrated planning process".

"When completed in 2018, the dedicated access points will provide thousands of road users and commuters a more direct access to and from NPE, therefore redistributing traffic flow and encouraging smooth traffic within the area," Amona Development group chief operating officer Che Hasnadi Che Hasnan said.

Pantai Sentral Park, which is being developed by IJM Land and Amona Development, has a gross development value of RM2.5 billion and has been envisioned as the "catalyst to create a next generation township that truly embraces the core values of 'People, Planet, Priority' ". — theedgemarkets.com
