Alam ImpianSHAH ALAM (Oct 16): I&P Group Sdn Bhd's Alam Impian township has made it into the Malaysia Book of Records for its longest doodle art jogging track in a lake park in Taman Idaman.

The 3m wide, 1,080m long jogging track doddle art painting was a joint effort by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Dulux Malaysia and I&P.

With the theme of “Nature – Flora Fauna & Abstrak”, more than 300 students and lecturers were involved in this 2-day painting project. Dulux Malaysia sponsored the colour paints while I&P provided all other necessary funds. The painting was completed at Oct 9.

Certificates of achievement were handed out to I&P by representatives from Malaysia Book of Records before the flag off of Fun Run Alam Impaian 2016 this morning.

Organised by I&P, The Fun Run Alam Impian 2016 was held in conjunction with Alam Impian’s 10th anniversary.

“Today is a day to be remembered. The concept of Alam Impian is 'Township of The Arts' and the newly announced longest doodle art paining on jogging track is certainly inline with the township concept. It is also a birthday gift to its (Alam Impian) 10th birthday,” I&P chief executive officer Jamaludin Osman told TheEdgeProperty.com after the event today.

Launched in 2006, Alam Impian is a township sitting on 1,235-acre land in Shah Alam. It is a township planned to accommodate 10,000 homes and 50,000 residents.

“Celebrating the 10th anniversary with a fun run will also bring more people to visit the township. We have a 31-acre central town park and art decorations everywhere. I am glad to see some 1,500 runners and a total 2,000 visitors gather here this morning for the run and the celebrations. We are now considering making the fun run an annual activity for Alam Impian,” said Jamaludin.

Besides the fun run, other events were art activities, walkway mural paining, roller blade rides and musical performances by local buskers, t-baton and K9 demonstration by Shah Alam police.
