PETALING JAYA (Oct 20): The Smart Selangor 1.0 Blueprint is set to be approved this month with the plan to be made public in December, said the deputy director for the Smart Selangor Delivery Unit Dr Fahmi Ngah.

The blueprint aims to transform the cities within Selangor into smart cities.

During the 2nd Smart Cities Asia Conference held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre yesterday, Fahmi shared that there will be 12 core focuses: smart governance, smart energy, smart water management, smart waste management system, smart development, smart digital infrastructure, smart mobility and transportation, smart safety and security, smart disaster management, smart agriculture, smart healthcare, smart education and smart governance.

“The goal is to make cities within Selangor more liveable and enjoyable to live in,” said Fahmi.

He added that relative success has been achieved in the Smart Waste Management in Klang this year and the state is is positive about the Smart Selangor 1.0 Blueprint for 2017.
