Putrajaya Perdana bags RM408 mil job for Sime Darby's Cantara Residences

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 29): Putrajaya Perdana Bhd's wholly-owned unit Putra Perdana Construction Sdn Bhd has been awarded a RM408 million contract to build Sime Darby Ara Damansara Development Sdn Bhd's Cantara Residences.

The contract entails the construction of a 17-floor building comprising 756 units of serviced apartments and another nine floors of 108 units of serviced apartments built above the podium.

The project also includes the construction of two floors of office units and shop lots, car parks and common facilities. The development is expected to take 30 months, with targeted completion in May 2019.

"With this RM408 million contract, we are confident that with our current order book in hand, we can maintain a positive performance for the group in the coming financial years," Putra Perdana chief executive officer Goh Ceah Chuang said in a statement today.

With the addition of the latest contract win, the group has secured approximately RM765 million worth of projects year to date. Its order book and tender book stood at RM1.25 billion and RM1.93 billion respectively as at Oct 31, 2016.

It is also submitting tenders for approximately RM6 billion worth of contracts.

Among projects secured in 2016 include 28 Boulevard developed by Best Boulevard Sdn Bhd of RM370 million and the second RM300 million Westport CT8 Wharf owned by Westports Malaysia Bhd worth RM126.5 million.

To date, Putra Perdana has completed and delivered more than RM10 billion worth of projects, such as Projek Air Mentar Rapid (PAMER) in Pengerang valued at RM700 million as well as the prestigious Serai Bukit Bandaraya Condominium valued at RM382 million.

Last month, Putra Perdana was awarded the five-star rating Certificate of Achievement by Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia.

"Being acknowledged as a 5-star rated contractor is a testament of our commitment in bringing innovation and best practices to the projects we construct. The board was impressed with our usage of peri formwork at KL Eco City, aluminium formwork at Serai Bukit Bandaraya and the transfer plate design at South Key Mosaics Development project," said Goh.
