PETALING JAYA (Dec 2): Sunway Property, the property division of Sunway Bhd, together with Japan-based Daiwa House Group Malaysia subsidiary — Daiwa House Malaysia Sdn Bhd, recently held a preview of the newly completed Sakura Residence show unit.

Sakura Residence is located within the Parkview Precinct in the 1,800-acre Sunway Iskandar development in Johor, said Sunway Iskandar chief executive officer Gerard Soosay in a statement today.

Touted as the first luxury pre-fabricated landed residences in Malaysia, Sakura Residence has a gross development value of RM230 million and will be built in a 13-acre private gated community. It features 100 pre-fabricated double-storey bungalows and semi-dee homes with built-up sizes from 3,190 sq ft. Facilities include a clubhouse, jogging track, swimming pool and gymnasium.

Daisuke Usugi, chief executive officer for Daiwa Sunway Development Sdn Bhd & managing director of Daiwa House Malaysia Sdn Bhd, said the company’s main consideration when designing these pre-fabricated houses was the quality of living.

“Beyond the roof and walls, it is about every building detail that makes it a convenient and comfortable home for people of all ages. The details are reflected in the user-friendly features such as non-slip floors, waterproof socket points, two-way switches, insect screens, as well as finger-safe doors,” he said.

He added that the benefits of using pre-fabricated technology include the high-precision structure, shorter delivery timeframe, well-ventilated design, energy-saving and clean living environment.

Sunway Iskandar comprises six precincts namely The Lakeview, The Capital, The Parkview, The Riverside, The Seafront, and The Marketplace.

Each precinct is designed as a self-sustaining integrated township with amenities such as educational institutions, leisure and recreational as well as healthcare components.

“Sunway Iskandar is by far the largest project by Sunway Property, spanning across 1,800 acres of land with a GDV of RM30 billion. It is strategically located and has easy access to the Second Link via the soon to be completed Coastal Highway Southern Link, which will be opened in the first quarter of 2017,” said Soosay.
