Consider risk of spreading COVID-19 in jails, CJ tells courts

The Federal Court chief registrar's office said in a statement today that it had taken note of the Prisons Department director-general Datuk Seri Zulkifli Omar's letter dated April 2, proposing that offenders to the Movement Control Order (MCO) be sentenced to community service instead of jail.

Hearing of cases online to go on until April 14

In a statement issued by the Federal Court's chief registrar's office, it said the directive and statement issued on March 17 applies, where parties are required to apply to court for the hearing of civil cases to be done online by using the e-Review, exchange of emails and video conferencing.
