KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 23): Former cabinet minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed does not discount joining Pakatan Harapan, having left Umno and Barisan Nasional recently.

"I have not made any decision [whether to join PH]," said Mustapa (Independent-Jeli) in the Dewan Rakyat today.

"God willing, when I have made a decision, I will inform the public," Mustapa said in response to an invitation by SN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) for Mustapa to cross over to the ruling coalition.

Mustapa resigned from Umno on Sept 18 after over 40 years, saying the direction taken by the party is different from his political principle for an inclusive and moderate party. He was BN Kelantan chairman at the time.

The 14th general election on May 9 marked the first time BN relinquished federal power since its inception, after suffering a surprise loss to PH, under the leadership of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. — theedgemarkets.com
