KUALA LUMPUR: The Asia Pacific Real Estate Association (APREA) Institute aims to enrol 25 students under its first Certificate of Real Estate Investment Finance (CREIF) programme in Malaysia, said APREA CEO Peter Mitchell.

The programme, which started in 2007, has seen about 100 graduates so far, he told reporters at APREA Institute's CREIF open day on Thursday, Jan 13. CREIF is offered by APREA in partnership with Malaysia Property Inc and partly sponsored by Sime Darby Property Bhd.

"Demand around the region for this unique programme continues to grow and we are delighted to be able to deliver it in such an important market as Malaysia," Mitchell said.

"The CRIEF programme will deliver quality training to real estate industry professionals in Malaysia by senior industry practitioners, with an emphasis on practical and applied training and case studies," he added.

CREIF, an industry training programme by APREA Institute, the association's education arm, was set up to train management-level professionals across the real estate industry. The course costs US$5,350 (RM16,318) for non-APREA members and US$4,250 for APREA members.
