HANOI: Berjaya Land Bhd got a Vietnamese investment license for a US$2 billion (RM6.75 billion) urban development, the Dau Tu newspaper reported on Oct 14, without saying where it got the information.

The development, which includes houses, malls and offices, will be near the Long Thanh international airport in Dong Nai province, neighboring Ho Chi Minh City, Dau Tu said, without providing further details.

The newspaper also said that Vietnam may reach its full-year target for foreign investment of US$20 billion this month, putting it on track to beat the full-year goal.

So far this year, US$18.7 billion of foreign investments have been committed to Vietnam, according to the foreign investment department of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Dau Tu said. – Bloomberg LP
