KUALA LUMPUR: Global gym operator Fitness First is set to open a new outlet in Setia City Mall, along side other tenants such as Parkson, Golden Screen Cinemas, Urbanfresh, Harvey Norman, Courts and Wangsa Bowl.

The 16,500 sq ft outlet would be located on Level 1 and will have a complete view of the mall's outdoor park space, offering state-of-the-art facilities including its signature Group Exercise classes that will be backed up by expert advice from its certified team of passionate fitness professionals.

Fitness First Malaysia managing director Shaun Measday said that he is positive about the potential of the new club, and looks forward to affecting positive change in the lives of the surrounding community in the years to come through exercise and healthy living.

"We… feel that Fitness First will be a tremendous addition to the what is already a very exciting retail proposition at Setia City Mall," he added.

Setia City Mall is being developed by a joint venture between S P Setia Bhd and the Asian Retail Investment Fund, a fund managed by the investment arm of international property developer Lend Lease.

Setia City Mall development director Robert Spinks said that as the vision for the mall is to provide a holistic retail experience "having such an exceptional gym on board further enhances our retail offer, and will no doubt be a welcome addition for our customers".

In addition to the major retailers, Setia City Mall will also include over 200 stores, a number of large format retailers and a public park. It will also offer efficient access to over 2,500 car parks and will be easily connected to nearby roads, towns and major highways.

The new mall will be designed, marketed and managed by the joint venture entity, combining the best of Malaysian and international retail development skills and experience to create a high quality, successful retail environment. The mall will open in mid 2012.
