KUALA TERENGGANU: A junior general assistant at a Land Office here pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here on Tuesday, March 1 to a charge with accepting a bribe of RM1,300.

Hussin Che Mohamad, 52, is charged with accepting the bribe from one Mohd Shahril Saleh as an inducement to change the ownership of a land title from that of a deceased person, Omar Ismail, to his (Mohd Shahril) uncle's name, Mohamad Awang.

The offence was allegedly committed at 12.40pm on Jan 14, 2007.

Judge Azman Mustapha set March 30 for mention and allowed Hussin bail of RM5,000 in one surety.

Deputy public prosecutor from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, Syafinas Shabudin, prosecuted, while Hussin was represented by lawyer Mohd Hisham Hashim. — Bernama
