KUALA LUMPUR: Stinger Electrical Fences Sdn Bhd (SEF) hopes to ride on the rising economic growth in the region with the opening of its Asia-Pacific office in Malaysia on Thursday, Feb 10.

In a statement, SEF said the timing was right because when the economy grew, there would be an increase in prosperity and with it would come a corresponding rise in crime.

Managing director T Arunakirinathanm said the company would set up a country franchise system and would seek partners to handle key markets like China, South Korea and Indonesia.

He said the franchise would offer a great business opportunity for its area contractors.

"Stinger will provide the publicity, branding and marketing, extensive training and overall support and distribution," he said.

Arunakirinathanm said the company offered a variety of products which were suitable for all sorts of residences.

SEF is an affiliate of Stinger South Africa which manufacturers its own line of premium high security equipment. — Bernama
