Mah Sing Group Bhd has agreed to dispose of about 78.8 acres of commercial land at its Mah Sing DC Hub @ Southville City in Selangor to WG Malaysia X Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of an international digital-infrastructure group, for RM617.9 million. Separately, YTL Power International Bhd and JLand Group have announced a proposed joint development of a gigawatt-scale data-centre campus at Sedenak Tech Park West in Johor.
Quick takes
- NCT Alliance Bhd’s net profit fell 16.7% to RM20.5 million in 2QFY2026, while revenue declined 56.9% to RM87.05 million. The developer said it is exploring potential data-centre opportunities at NCT Smart Industrial Park under a term sheet involving about 100 acres.
- 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd has completed the RM19 million acquisition of freehold agricultural land in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, through subsidiary QVI Foods Sdn Bhd. - Crest Builder Holdings Bhd’s revenue rose 84% to RM259.19 million in 2QFY2026, mainly on higher construction progress recognised for ongoing projects. Profit attributable to shareholders increased 8% to RM2.84 million, while its outstanding construction order book stood at about RM1.9 billion; RM513 million had been secured towards its FY2026 replenishment target.
Mah Sing monetises Southville City land as data-centre strategy takes shape
Mah Sing Group Bhd has agreed to dispose of about 78.8 acres of commercial land within Mah Sing DC Hub @ Southville City in Selangor to WG Malaysia X Sdn Bhd for RM617.9 million cash, equivalent to about RM180 per sq ft.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Thursday (Aug 20), Mah Sing said its wholly owned unit Southville City Sdn Bhd had entered into a conditional sale and purchase agreement for the proposed disposal. WG Malaysia X is a wholly owned subsidiary of an international digital-infrastructure group. The purchaser intends to use the currently vacant land for data-centre-related development. Mah Sing said proceeds from the proposed disposal would be used for remaining infrastructure works and transaction expenses, working capital, and future development and investment activities, including opportunities under its digital-infrastructure strategy. Founder and group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum said digital infrastructure could complement Mah Sing’s property development business and become a second growth engine over time.
Separately, the group is assessing a proposed colocation data centre within the hub, potentially with an experienced colocation operator. Mah Sing said the proposal remains at a preliminary stage and is subject to further assessment. Mah Sing DC Hub is within the group’s 428-acre freehold Southville City township. Mah Sing said the location has access to power, water, high-speed fibre connectivity and transport links.
Why it matters
The proposed disposal monetises part of Mah Sing’s Southville City landbank while providing capital for its wider digital-infrastructure strategy. Its separate colocation assessment signals interest in expanding its involvement beyond land disposal, although no project commitment or commercial arrangement has been finalised.
YTL Power, JLand plan gigawatt-scale data-centre campus at Sedenak Tech Park West
YTL Power International Bhd and JLand Group have announced a strategic partnership for a proposed joint development that will include a gigawatt-scale data-centre campus at Sedenak Tech Park West in Johor.
Under the arrangement, YTL Power’s subsidiary SIPP Power Sdn Bhd will acquire about 145 acres within Sedenak Tech Park West from JLand Group’s subsidiary JLG Technopark Sdn Bhd. SIPP Power also has an option to acquire up to a further 400 acres for future expansion, potentially bringing the campus footprint to about 545 acres. YTL Power owns 70% of SIPP Power, while SIPP Energy Sdn Bhd holds the remaining 30%. The companies said the Sedenak campus would complement YTL Green Data Center Park in Kulai, which has planned capacity of up to 1.2GW. The announcement did not separately specify Sedenak’s planned power capacity.
JLand Group, the property arm of Johor Corporation, is the master developer of Ibrahim Technopolis, which includes Sedenak Tech Park West and is located within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone.
Why it matters
The proposed Sedenak development gives YTL Power scope to expand its Johor data-centre footprint beyond its existing Kulai park. The initial 145-acre site could grow to about 545 acres if the additional land option is exercised, providing substantial room for future expansion, although the companies have not disclosed the Sedenak campus’s planned capacity, investment value or development timeline.
