Americans willing to spend most on hotel stay abroad

SINGAPORE: American travelers emerged as the nationality that was willing to spend the most on a hotel room when travelling abroad, the Hotels.com Hotel Price Index revealed.

American travelers will spend an average of S$224 (RM535) per room per night, despite restricting themselves to a mere S$159 when travelling within America.

Coming next are the Japanese and Russians, spending an average of S$220 per night on hotels, although they were found to be willing to spend more while travelling within their own country.

The Japanese will spend S$230 in their own country, while Russians spent S$248.

They were followed by Norway and Portugal nationals, who will spend an average of S$211 and S$210 per room per night respectively.
