KUALA LUMPUR: Khor Joo Saik Sdn Bhd (KJS) has appointed CB Richard Ellis (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (CBRE Malaysia) as the property manager of Menara Binjai.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Sept 30, KJS director Chua Guan-Hock said the company was honoured to be working with the global commercial property services provider.

"State-of-the-art property management for Menara Binjai is a key part of our plan to ensure our tenants and visitors are provided with facilities and services of the highest international standard. This will complement the cutting-edge Green features of this landmark office tower," he said.

KJS is the landowner and developer of the 35-storey, dual-certified green building, which is currently under construction at the Chua's former family home at the intersection of Jalan Binjai, Jalan Ampang and Jalan Tun Razak in Kuala Lumpur.

The tower has a gross floor area of 473,000 sq ft and a net lettable area of 333,000 sq ft. The gross floor plate size is 16,000 sq ft, and KJS plans to allow up to two tenants per floor.

Meanwhile, CBRE Malaysia executive chairman Christopher Boyd said its appointment as Menara Binjai's property managers will further strengthen its management porftolio of top properties across the globe.

Worldwide, CBRE manages 2.5 billion sq ft of commercial space, he said.

“With its top-notch amenities, Menara Binjai will be the new green landmark for companies who value a strategically located address that emphasises environmentally sustainable practices.

“Our team will ensure that Menara Binjai is managed to leading international standards, and is continuously aligned with the goals and strategies of the owner,” he added.

The office tower is close to the Ampang Park LRT Station, and features double-glazed wondows, energy-saving flexi-zone air-conditioning and light fittings with daylight sensors as well as high-speed destination-based lifts.

It is scheduled for completion in 4Q2011.
