LMCB’s president and chief executive officer, Bi Yong Chungunco said: “ This is a proud moment for us. Besides offering advanced solutions to meet our customer’s demands, we are one step ahead, developing technological breakthroughs in reducing the CO2 footprint in cement applications.
“Innovation is a key focus at Lafarge, with more than 50% of our R&D budget dedicated to sustainable construction. At LMCB, we have also invested considerable research to develop innovative products such as Mascrete LH and Phoenix,” she added.
Chungunco said the Green Label Certification represents a recognition and validation of LMCB’s R&D initiatives as well as the company’s leadership in producing “green” building materials.
The company already has several initiatives to reduce the consumption of non-renewable natural resources and save energy during product manufacturing and construction.
LMCB’s principal activities are manufacturing and selling cement and clinker. Other activities include manufacturing and selling ready-mixed concrete, as well as, producing, supplying and quarrying aggregates and related products.
