KUALA LUMPUR: MASSDA Land Company Ltd's chairman Tan Sri Michael Chen Wing Sum has been awarded a certificate of merit in recognition of his contribution to the socio-economic development of Danang City in Vietnam.

Chen is one of the founding directors of MASSCORP Bhd and chairman of its subsidiary MASSCORP Vietnam Sdn Bhd which co-owned MASSDA with Danang Investment and Development Fund, a Vietnamese state financial organisation.

MASSDA is involved in developing and managing the Danang Industrial Park which was established in 1993 in the central region of Vietnam, MASSCORP said in a statement on Friday April 9.

Chen received his award in Kuala Lumpur from Tran Van Minh, chairman of the People's Committee of Danang City.MASSCORP is a consortium of 84 shareholders, which includes some of Malaysia's leading companies in their respective fields, allowing them to draw on extensive expertise, experience and resources to carry out business with the developing countries of the South. -- Bernama
