KUALA LUMPUR: Pan Pacific Hotels Group and Gagasan Langkawi Sdn Bhd signed an agreement to open Parkroyal Langkawi Resort on May 15. This will be the fourth hotel in Malaysia under Pan Pacific’s Parkroyal brand.

“We are delighted to be able to extend the Parkroyal footprint to yet another prime travel destination in the country,” said Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s chief executive officer Bernold Schroeder. The other Parkroyal hotels in Malaysia are Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur, Parkroyal Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur and Parkroyal Penang.

A Unesco World Geopark, Langkawi is one of the country’s most popular beach destinations and receives millions of tourists each year.

He added that with its strategic location and unique customer offerings, Parkroyal Langkawi Resort is well poised to uphold the Parkroyal promise to be ‘Your Trusted Local Companion’.

“It will connect guests to the many cultural, dining and entertainment experiences that the beautiful island of Langkawi has to offer,” said Schroeder.

Set to be completed by 2017, the resort will feature 253 rooms and nine villas and will be located at Pantai Tengah Beach— a prime beachfront location that extends from the popular Cenang Beach.

The resort will also include facilities such as restaurants, beach bar, spa, gym, ballroom, meeting rooms and swimming pools.

The signing of the agreement is part of Pan Pacific’s rapid expansion into the Asia-Pacific region.
