CAMBRIDGE: Kingfishers Bridge wildlife reserve in Britain has come onto the market for sale through Savills with a guide price of £2.3 million.
“Kingfishers Bridge is a very exciting opportunity for the new owner; it will be an ideal investment for someone with a keen interest in wildlife and with a vision to continue what has already been well established." said Adrian Wilson of Savills Cambridge.
The project was started in 1995 by a private initiative headed by owner Andrew Green and project manager Roger Beecroft. It has transformed 155 acres of fenland arable farmland into a wildlife habitat and wetland sanctuary. It is home to one of Britain's rarest plants, the Water Germander, and the secretive Bittern bird.
“Roger and I are very keen that the work we’ve done here is continued for future generations to treasure and enjoy. I am now in my 76th year, and with sons who are sadly not in a position to take on the project, it is a moment for us to seek enthusiastic new ownership.” commented Andrew Green.
