ALOR SETAR (May 21): The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah arrived at Istana Chegar, Anak Bukit, here today to pay his last respects to Kedah Regency Council chairman Tan Sri Tunku Annuar Sultan Badlishah.

Tuanku Abdul Halim who had to cut short his state visit to Singapore arrived at 11.45am accompanied by the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tuanku Hajah Haminah.

KUALA LUMPUR: Banking group AMMB Holdings Bhd sees the property sector as a potential area of concern in its wholesale segment.

The segment comprises its non-retail services such as corporate banking, institutional banking and investment banking.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB) has more than doubled its net profit to RM12 million for its first quarter ended March 31, 2014 (1QFY14), from RM5.3 million a year ago.

This was despite its revenue for 1QFY14 declining by 22% to RM204.6 million from RM262.0 million.

PUTRAJAYA: Land owner, Ishmael Lim Abdullah, is one move away from losing his home after the Court of Appeal ruled yesterday that his land title is null and void.

Lim only has one last legal avenue — the Federal Court — left to hold onto his home.
