KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 6): Tung Shin Hospital found five of its patients positive for the Covid-19 virus today.

According to a statement released by the hospital’s management, four local patients were detected via pre-surgery screening and one foreigner was detected through pre-travelling screening.

As a result, Tung Shin Hospital immediately alerted the health authorities and all five have been transferred to Sungai Buloh Hospital for further treatment.

“Contact tracing has also been thoroughly carried out. Our doctors, nurses and staff who had attended to these patient were donned with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and had practised frequent hand sanitisation and social distancing,” said the hospital.

“We had also conducted risk stratification on each and every one of them and the majority are in the low risk group. As for those who are in the high and medium risk group, they have been tested… and have been placed under home quarantine for 14 days,” it added.

The hospital has also closed all affected areas for “terminal cleaning”. These areas will resume their operations tomorrow, said the hospital management.
