IPOH: Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (Mydin) is to open an environment-friendly hypermarket in Bandar Meru Raya in March next year.

Managing director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin said the RM150 million hypermarket will have solar panels and T5 energy-saving and consumer-friendly lights.

He said the 750,000 square feet hypermarket, the biggest among the Mydin hypermarket chain in the country, will have a scenic greenery landscape with various species of palms and trees planted in the vicinity.

"We will plant as many trees as possible, much more than requested by the Ipoh City Council (MBI). Keen competition among hypermarket operators warrants us to go to the customers.

"With the environment-friendly landscape, I believe we can woo customers to remain loyal with us and also pave the way to attract new customers. — Bernama
