Former AG Tan Sri Ambrin Buang told High Court today there are two versions of meeting minutes in relation to the board meeting dated Sept 26, 2009 — one recorded Low's attendance, while the other does not contain Low's attendance.

Ambrin said he raised the matter of 1MDB producing two different versions of financial statements to the Companies Commission of Malaysia, and to Deustche Bank and AmBank to the former premier. However, Ambrin said Najib told him not to include this in the audit report and promised that this matter will be brought to the relevant authorities for investigation.

“There were passages in that report that caused concern to Najib though they were true in fact ... He took positive steps to have those passages altered or removed ... Despite the report was ready to be placed before the PAC in Parliament, a meeting was convened on Feb 24, 2016 at Najib’s behest ... As a result of what transpired at that meeting, the relevant passages were amended or removed.”

The High Court was told that there are no other claims, including from fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho.

Najib is claiming trial before High Court judge Justice Mohamed Zaini Mazlan today to tampering with the final 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) audit report while Ahmad Zahid is claiming trial today to 47 charges.

Justice Sequerah ordered the trial to be continued on Wednesday.

Former 1MDB chief executive officer Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi said this was because the account number was provided by PSI, and the remittance form for the payment stated that the account belonged to PSI.

This was brought up in the 1MDB-Tanore trial by lead defence counsel Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, referring to an article by The Edge weekly issue dated June 18-24, 2018, which carried an email exchange between Tarek and Mahony dated Aug 7, 2010.

Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah was assured yesterday by Shafee, that the trial will begin to adhere to the extended schedule from today onwards.

Lead defence counsel Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah lobbed this accusation at Shahrol, who is the ninth prosecution in the trial, while grilling him on a proposed investment by 1MDB into French energy company GDF Suez.
