Pakatan Harapan, who is led by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, last night released a released a list of 115 MPs — including himself — backing him as prime minister. However, two MPs in the list — Bukit Gantang MP Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal and Sri Aman MP Masir Kujat — have come out to deny backing Dr Mahathir, instead saying they support Muhyiddin.

In a statement today, Dr Mahathir said he intends to write a letter to the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on the renewed claim of support for the former premier. "I hope the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong will accept my letter and my explanation,"

After Baru Bian's defection “allegedly” gave Pakatan Harapan 114 MPs in support of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as prime minister

This came about as Selangau MP Baru Bian signed a declaration supporting for Dr Mahathir prime minister.   

He explained that the six are himself, Dr Mahathir, Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, Simpang Renggam MP Dr Maszlee Malik, Kuala Pilah MP Eddin Syazlee Shith, and Kubang Pasu MP Amiruddin Hamzah.

"At this juncture, GPS will only be a political party that is friendly to Perikatan Nasional."
