KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 23): Unfinished work on a sewerage facility in Taman Beringin, Kepong has been giving residents there a big traffic headache.

“Residents are complaining about the traffic congestion caused by the uncompleted project,” Kepong Community Centre head Yee Poh Ping told The Star recently.

“There are 1,836 People’s Housing Project units and 400 landed properties in Taman Beringin.

“The situation is worse at night as the place is not well lit, putting the safety of motorists who use the road at risk,” Yee added.

Another resident in the area named Tan told The Star that traffic congestion has become worse owing to the stalled sewerage project.

“It has been so long since the project started but it has not been completed yet.

“We are facing terrible traffic congestion daily especially during the morning and evening rush hour on Jalan Kapit,” he said.

According to the same report, seven sites in Taman Beringin were dug up for the Indah Water Konsortium project. Work has been at a standstill for more than a year.
