PETALING JAYA (Oct 16): The 1 Utama Shopping Centre will be reopening tomorrow from 10am to 10pm, even during the Conditional Movement Control Order from Oct 17 to Oct 27.

The reopening is said to have been endorsed and supported by the Ministry of Health (MoH).

The notice which went up today added that some tenants will be operating under flexible business hours from 11am to 8pm daily.

“We would like to reassure you that all tenant and mall management staff including our auxiliary police and security forces have been tested and cleared for duty. 1 Utama is strongly committed to ensure the continued safety of our patrons and community at large,” the mall management said.

It added that, combined with massive sanitisation efforts in strict adherence to MoH SOP’s, 1 Utama will continue to provide a safe shopping experience with round-the-clock cleaning using hospital grade disinfectants and purifying air via high-efficiency filters and powerful UV lights.

The mall management also reminded visitors to keep their face masks on, get their temperature scanned before entering, keep their hands clean and observe social distance.

The mall was previously closed on Oct 11, Sunday after several Covid-19 cases were detected amongst the mall's workers. A mass testing exercise for 6,000 of their staff and tenants were also conducted under the mall's private initiative and expense.
