ABU DHABI:  Aldar Properties PJSC will build infrastructures for the Shiebat Al Watah mixed development in Al  Ain, the second largest city here. The three-year job was awarded by the Al Ain Municipality.

In a statement posted on Cityscape Abu Dhabi’s website on Wednesday, April 21, Aldar chairman Ahmed Ali Al  Sayegh said the construction job scope for the new residential development about 10 km to the south of the Al  Ain City Centre, included 41 km of internal roads and pedestrian paths, besides a 45 km water-network system and  32.5 km sewerage

“We are pleased to engage again with Al Ain Municipality in a new project after having delivered Shabhat  infrastructure last year.

"Aldar has proven experience in developing key infrastructure as the basis of starting new projects,” Ahmed Ali  said.

Aldar is overseeing the Shiebat Al Watah development comprising 1,045 residential units as well as educational,  health and retail facilities.

The Shabhat residential development is located in the south east enclave of Al Ain. Both Shabhat and Shiebat Al  Watah are crucial elements of Plan Al Ain 2030, which will guide the evolution and long-term development of Al  Ain, also known as the Garden City.

Al Ain, with a population of some 400,00 people as of last year, is located at the border with Oman, and about  120 km south of Dubai.

Dr. Matar Mohammed Saif Al Nu’aimi, general manager of Al Ain Municipality said: “We are pleased to work with  Aldar on this important project which serves one of the key objectives of Al Ain Municipality: building the  foundations for Al Ain’s long term development as envisioned by Al Ain 2030.

"This project further demonstrates our commitment to providing housing for UAE nationals."
