KUALA LUMPUR: Ahmad Zaki Resources Bhd (AZRB) recorded an increase in net profit by 43% to RM7.95 million from RM5.58 million a year ago in its third quarter (3Q) financial statements ended Sept 30, 2010, the group announced on Tuesday, Nov 30.

Revenue earned, on the other hand, dropped 19% to RM130.396 million from RM161.82 million a year ago.

The group attributed the improved performance for the period to date to strong performance from its domestic construction and bunkering activities as well as its associated company.

Basic earnings per share increased to 2.87 sen from 2.02 sen a year ago. Net assets per share was 81.83 sen, down from 82.35 sen at the preceding financial year end.

AZRB engages in investment holding, providing management services and as contractors of civil and structural construction works.
