BANGKOK (Oct 20): Best Western Hotels & Resorts has unveiled the first Vīb hotel, its new lifestyle boutique brand, in Vientiane, Laos.

Its managing director of international operations – Asia, Olivier Berrivin, said the new Vīb hotel will open in 2018. It is located in the centre of Vientiane, close to Lao National Museum, Black Stupa and Patuxai Arch.

“Vīb is designed to combine value and style. Blending social engagement with the latest technology and smart, ergonomic design, Vīb will appeal to Southeast Asia’s new generation of savvy travellers,” said Berrivin in a press release.

The 70-room hotel is designed with sleep-inducing beds, international adaptors and complimentary Wi-Fi. Vīb will also feature a social lobby area, “grab n’ go” snack station, and a “Zen Zone” for relaxation.

“Since its launch earlier this year, Vīb has been an incredibly exciting new concept for Best Western, and we have seen a high level of interest from developers across the world,” said Ron Pohl, the company’s senior vice president of brand management.

The 69-year-old Best Western Hotels & Resorts is headquartered in Phoenix in the US, and has a global network of more than 4,100 hotels in more than 100 countries. Its Asia operation in Bangkok was started in 2001, and now covers 15 countries in the region, with more than 100 hotels.

Best Western offers seven hotel brands to suit the needs of different guests, the brands include Best Western Premier, BW Premier Collection, Best Western Plus, Best Western Plus Executive Residency, GLō, Best Western and Vīb.
