HULU SELANGOR: The MCA does not regard the problem of land ownership in Selangor as a big issue because the matter had been given ample attention when the Barisan Nasional (BN) was in power until March 2008, MCA secretary-general Datuk Kong Cho Ha said today (April 8).

He said: "The BN never waited for a by-election to render its service... most of the land title issue had already been settled... why not do it two or three months after taking power, why after two years?"

"They should have done it earlier," Kong, who is also the MCA chief coordinator for the Hulu Selangor parliamentary by-election, said when asked to comment on the state government's decision to give land titles to residents in the constituency.

Nomination for the by-election is on April 17 and polling on April 25 in the event of a contest. -- Bernama
