KUALA LUMPUR: Earthworks and infrastructure works for the construction of Sanctuary Ridge Kuala Lumpur in Bukit Gasing have begun and are expected to be completed within 24 months.

Gasing Meridian Sdn. Bhd, the developer of the a low-density development of 69 luxury bungalows in Bukit Gasing, Kuala Lumpur has appointed a contractor for the job after a nine-month tender exercise. Kumpulan Ikram, a government-appointed independent consultancy with expertise in hill slope developments, has also been appointed by Gasing Meridian to oversee and inspect the project as it progresses. The 38-acre project offers bungalows on land averaging 19,000 sq ft each.

Gasing Meridian had faced extensive litigation and public outcry that began in 2006 over the hill slope development. The issue was finally resolved in Gasing Meridian’s favour. “We're taking all necessary measures to ensure that regulations are adhered to diligently in the construction of the project. Safety is paramount,” said Leo Tan, a Senior Manager of Gasing Meridian in a statement.

The existing sewerage treatment plant at Gasing Indah will be relocated to allow the site to be converted into a public park, he added.

The Sanctuary Gasing Group, of which Gasing Meridian is a member, has undertaken various projects including luxury homes in Australia, Malaysia, China, and the US.
