KUALA TERENGGANU: Ten cars parked under the garage of a construction company were damaged when its roof collapsed after the pillars were hit by a crane today (Jan 13).

The incident occured at the Chendering industrial area at about 10am.

Kuala Terengganu public order and traffic division chief ASP Mohd Faudzi Muhamad said the crane, driven by Jamali Harun, was believed to have accidentally knocked against the tip of the roof.

He said, at that juncture, Jamali panicked and tried to reverse the crane, causing the bucket to be entangled with the asbestos roof.

"This caused the pillars of the roof to collapse and crush the cars," he said, adding that the damaged vehicles belonged to Q-Bena Resources Sdn Bhd employees. -- Bernama
