ABU DHABI: Harrods Estates, the luxury real estate division of the Harrods Group, will showcase its prime residential property portfolio in Central London at the Cityscape Abu Dhabi 2010, an international real estate investment and development event to be held from April 18 to 21.

This is the first time the Harrods Group will be exhibiting its products and services in the Middle East.

Set up over a century ago, Harrods Estates is said to specialise in the sale, let, acquisition and management of some of the most exclusive properties in Central London.

According to a Cityscape Intelligence report, Harrods Estates, has in recent years, seen a steep increase in the number of Middle Eastern buyers in traditionally favoured areas in London such as Knightsbridge and Mayfair.

International clients now account for 87 per cent of Harrods Estates’ sales and lettings.

On Harrods Estates’ coming debut at Cityscape Abu Dhabi, sales and marketing director Shirley Humphrey told Cityscape Intelligence: “We are participating at Cityscape Abu Dhabi in addition to our already very well established Middle East client base, with whom we have worked with for many years.

“We have recently seen a surge of enquiries from the region. We will utilise this opportunity to update them about our ongoing projects and provide them with other investment opportunities.

“We also aim to interact with prospective high net worth investors, developers, financiers, consultants, architects, urban planners and others.

“The prime property in Central London will remain in high demand and will continue to achieve growth as there is rarely an oversupply of property in this area. This category of properties is particularly favoured by Middle Eastern investors who appreciate grand houses or apartments with large lateral space, period features and immaculate interiors as well as premium services such as first class concierge and 24 hour security.”
