KUALA LUMPUR: TA Enterprise Bhd has posted a higher pre-tax profit of RM36.46 million for the third quarter (3Q) ended Oct 31, 2010, from RM23.25 million chalked up in the same quarter last year.

Revenue rose to RM153.29 million from RM118.225 million in the corresponding quarter.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday, Dec 14, the group said higher pre-tax profit and revenue in the current quarter was mainly due to improved contribution from the TA Global group.

Meanwhile, TA Global Bhd chalked up RM47.48 million in pre-tax profit for the third-quarter ended October 31, 2010 compared with RM19.94 million registered in the corresponding quarter.

Revenue increased to RM121.41 million, during the quarter under review, from RM83.4 million recorded previously.

The higher pre-tax profit and revenue in the current quarter was mainly due to higher contribution from its hotels division as a result of the recent acquisition exercise. — Bernama
