HUA HIN, Thailand: InterContinental Hotels & Resorts will open its first seaside retreat in the country, the 119-room InterContinental Hua Hin Resort next month.

The hotel also offers 11 deluxe ocean-view suites and six executive suites, in addition to three beachfront villas with private plunge pools and one presidential suite that can cater as a private wedding chapel.

InterContinental Hua Hin Resort also offers an “In the Know” programme for hotel guests focusing on the area’s attractions, such as the town’s historic railway station and Khao Thakiab (“Chopstick Hill”) on the Gulf of Thailand’s coastline where a hilltop Buddhist temple is situated.

There are also facilities such as a gym, spa, kid’s club and the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course, which is Thailand’s first championship course.

The principal design team for the project was Space Architect, in collaboration with construction firm Power Line, swimming pool and landscape designer Belt Collins, and interior designer PIA.

Located a two-and-a-half hour drive from Bangkok, the town has been known as a royal retreat since the 1920s.
