KUALA LUMPUR: Kwasa Land Sdn Bhd has pre-qualified 20 Tier 1 developers for its inaugural request for proposal (RFP) for the town centre development under the planned Kwasa Damansara township in Sungei Buloh, Selangor.

The developers are Bandaraya Developments Bhd, Bandar Utama City Corp Sdn Bhd, DRB-Hicom Bhd, Eastern and Oriental Bhd, Goldis Bhd, Gamuda Bhd, Guocoland (Malaysia) Bhd, IJM Land Bhd, IOI Properties Group Bhd, I&P Group Sdn Bhd, Mah Sing Group Bhd, Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd, Selangor State Development Corporation, Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, SP Setia Bhd, Sunway Bhd, Tropicana Corp Bhd, UEM Sunrise Bhd, WCT Holdings Bhd and YTL Corp Bhd.

Kwasa Land is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF).

The RFP seeks a development partner for the proposed 25.93ha town centre identified as Project MX-1 based on the provisional master layout plan.

In a statement yesterday, Kwasa Land managing director Mohd Lotfy Mohd Noh said Project MX-1 is a parcel of mixed development for the 942.92ha Kwasa Damansara township.

According to Kwasa Land, the location is extremely strategic, with a main road frontage and two mass rapid transit stations traversing it.

As the master developer, Kwasa Land is responsible for delivering common infrastructure and thematic landscape parks, and also providing land for schools, mosques and other places of worship, police stations, fire stations, as well as building affordable homes.

Mohd Lotfy said invitations had been sent out to the 20 pre-qualified developers which met Kwasa Land’s stringent criteria for the RFP exercise.

The closing date for all RFP submissions is May 27.

All tenders will be evaluated on the qualitative and quantitative criteria spelt out in the RFP.
