KUALA LUMPUR: Loh & Loh Corp Bhd recorded a profit of RM4.38 million for the second quarter (2Q0 ended June 30, 2010, compared with RM6.51 million a year ago.

According to its filing on Bursa Malaysia on Aug 19, the major contributor to the group’s 2Q result was its construction division, which recorded a higher revenue of RM70.14 million and profit before tax (PBT) of RM11.4 million. Its revenue for the preceding financial period was RM65.75 million and PBT RM9.67 million.

However, its property division saw a lower revenue of RM1.37 million and PBT of RM0.06 million for the financial period ended June 30, 2010, as compared to RM21.79 million revenue and PBT of RM4.34 million in the preceding financial period ending June 30, 2009, due to the completion of the property development project.

Going forward, the group is optimistic that its performance for the FYE Dec 31, 2010 will be satisfactory based on the existing order book and new contracts secured.
